SmartTrim works with existing push-button trim, trim tabs, jack plates and other common control hardware. Its modular architecture supports capable DIY installation and lets owners choose the right level of intelligence for their vessel.

Hardware-enabled marine intelligence
The SmartTrim architecture combines deterministic control logic with edge neural-network inference. High-frequency sensor data is processed locally for responsive operation on the water, while wireless connectivity, secure firmware delivery and connected services create a path to continuous model and product improvement.
High-performance embedded processing supports low-latency control, on-device neural-network inference, wireless connectivity and secure over-the-air firmware updates.
High-frequency inertial measurements combine pitch, roll, acceleration and angular velocity with GPS and vessel state to create a continuously updated ride model.
SmartTrim connects directly to NMEA 2000 to use supported data made available by Mercury SmartCraft, Volvo Penta, Yamaha, Suzuki and other propulsion systems—along with common marine ecosystems such as Victron, Garmin and Simrad.
SmartTrim Logger and Cloud create a permissioned real-world dataset for vessel-specific tuning, class-level models and a growing software intelligence layer.

About Walker Marine Technologies
The Walker name honors our founder and chief product officer’s grandfather, who owned and operated a respected marine service and performance business for more than 35 years. Known as the go-to expert for marine tuning, he passed down both a deep understanding of boats and the hands-on knowledge that inspired a lifelong connection to the marine industry.
That marine foundation is reinforced by more than two decades of professional experience in structured data, analytics, AI, systems design and IT, along with hands-on experience in embedded electronics, IoT, automotive tuning and automation. Walker Marine Technologies is founder-led, bringing this uncommon combination of marine knowledge and technical expertise together through a direct connection between product vision, engineering and on-water validation.
SmartTrim began with a simple question: if a car can park itself, adapt its suspension to road conditions, plot a route and assist with driving, why can’t a boat provide the same kind of intelligent support? The goal is to let the captain enjoy more of the experience while the vessel handles continuous adjustments—without compromising safety, authority or control at the helm.
